MISSING IN ITALY -- Pvt. James C. Serakos, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Serakos, 403 6th S.W., has been missing in Italy since April15, according to word received here. Pvt. Serakos had been overseas since the first of the year and was serving in the 5th army.
A junior in high school here, Pvt. Serakos entered the army last August. He took his basic training at Camp Hood, Tex., and was home on furlough the latter part of last December before being sent overseas.

Had Been Reported Missing In Action on That Date
Pfc. James C. Serakos, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Serakos, 403 6th S.W., reported missing in the action in Italy on April 15, was killed in action on that date, according to a message received here from the war department.
Pfc. Serakos had been overseas since the first part of the year and been serving with the 5th army. He had been home on a short furlough in December before being sent overseas.
A junior in high school here, Pfc. Serakos entered the army last August. He took his basic training to Camp Hood, Tex.
Besides his parents he is survived by a sister, Olyindia, in the 7th grade at Roosevelt junior high, and a brother, Ted, in the 10th grade in high school.

James C. Serakos was born June 6, 1926 to Christ and Neke Avanetes Serakos. He died Apr. 15, 1945 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, IA.
Pvt. Serakos served in World War II with the U.S. Army and was KIA in Northern Italy.
