Oscar H. Scheeper was born July 10, 1917 to William and Martha Kruckenberg Scheeper. He died Jan. 3, 1944 and is buried in Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy and has a cenotaph in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Lowden, IA.
Sgt. Scheeper served in World War II with the U.S. Army 185th Field Artillery Battalion, 34th Infantry Division and was KIA in Italy and awarded the Purple Heart and Good Conduct Medal.
