John Thomas Roth was born May 25, 1919 to Jacob and Anna Maria Stadler Roth. He died Aug. 5, 1943 and is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii and has a cenotaph in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, IA.
Petty Officer Roth served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and died in a Japanese prison camp.
