John J. Rihner was born Dec. 24, 1915 to John and Mary Rihner. He died Sept. 3, 1944 and is buried in Shelby Cemetery, Shelby, IA.
Pvt. Rihner served in World War II with the U.S. Army 116th Infantry, 29th Infantry Division and was KIA while serving his country and was awarded the Purple Heart.
