John R. Ryan was born about 1920 to John B. and Mary Teresa “Tess” Curley Ryan. He died Nov. 30, 1944 and is buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
Lt. Ryan served in World War II with the U.S. Army 47th Field Artillery Battalion, 5th Armored Division and was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
