ROCKWELL – Mrs. Edward T. Roeder and son, Morton, left Tuesday night for Pensacola, Fla., to visit Ensign Andrew Roeder, an instructor at the naval air base.

Andrew Porter Roeder was born Feb. 21, 1918 to Edward T. and Helen Stevenson Roeder. He died Feb. 6, 1943 and is buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Rockwell, IA.
Lt. Roeder was a Flight Instructor at Pensacola, FL. The plane he was piloting crashed into Lake Pontchartrain, New Orleans, LA, while on a routine cross-country training trip.
