Letters From Missing Mate
Mrs. Edward Robare Thinks Government Mistaken
Although Mrs. Edward E. Robare, 1907 Center Street, received a telegram from the war department Thursday stating that her husband, Private First-Class Edward E. Robare, was missing in action in France June 12, she is sure a mistake has been made for she has received 12 letters from her husband dated since June 12.
In his letters, Private Robare wrote that he is wounded and is in a hospital in England. In his last letter dated July 1, he said he wished he could be home to celebrate the Fourth of July and added that his wounds weren’t too serious as he was doing some K.P. duty.
Mrs. Robare has enlisted the aid of the Red Cross to straighten out the situation. Private Robare is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Robare of Salix, Iowa and has been overseas with an infantry outfit for three months.
