FAMILY GIVES 5 TO UNCLE SAM -- Mr. and Mrs. Ross Riggins of Alexander are the parents of 5 children who are in the nation's military service.
Pfc. Russell Riggins, 32, is in the medical corps i the Admiralty Islands and has seen active service in New Guinea.
Robert W. Riggins, 29, seaman 2/c, is attending electrician's mate school at Iowa State college.
Donald E. Riggins, 27, chief controlman, has been in the navy 8 years. He took part in the battles on the coasts of Sicily and Casablanca, also at Hollanida and New Guinea.
Lt. David R. Riggins, 20, is in the southwest Pacific as a pilot of a P-47 plane.
Dorothy Riggins, 23, formerly a nurse's aide at University hospital, Iowa City, is now a WAC stationed at Fort Bragg, N. Car., where she is serving as hospital technician.
Besides the 5 children in the service, Mr. and Mrs. Riggins have a daughter, Marvel, 18, who plans to join the cadet nurse's air corps this fall, and a son, Jimmy, 13, at home.
Mr. and Mrs. Riggins also have a on-in-law, Leroy Raines, who is serving in a mechanized unit of the cavalry at Fort Riley, Kans.
