Gerald Eugene Powell was born Nov. 2, 1923 to Eugene and Violet Louise Knepper Powell. He died Aug. 9, 1942 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Petty Officer Powell served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was MIA/FOD/KIA following action in the Savo Islands in the Pacific in the performance of his duty and in the service of his country.
