Calvin Warren Pilkington was born Jan. 15, 1921 to Mark Edward and Anna Elizabeth Young Pilkington. He died Dec. 17, 1944 and is buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.
Pvt. Pilkington served in World War II with the U.S. Army 774th Tank Destroyer Battalion and was KIA in Germany. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, American Campaign Medal, European Campaign Medal with 2 Battle Stars and the Army Good Conduct Medal.
