Elvin Phillips, Jr. was born Apr. 8, 1913 to Columbus Elvin and Lizzie Mae Riggs Phillips. He died Oct. 10, 1944 and is buried in Bellefountaine Cemetery, Mahaska County, IA.
Cpl. Phillips served in World War II with the U.S. Army Co. B, 60th Engineers Battalion and was KIA in France.
