Fred Asbury Petty was born Sept. 6, 1908 to Howard and Jesse A. Newlin Petty. He died Feb. 13, 1945 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Lineville, IA.
Pvt. Petty served in World War II with the U.S. Army 319th Infantry, 80th Division and was KIA in Germany in the service of his country.
