Woodrow Thorvald Nielsen “Woody” Petersen was born May 10, 1918 to Axel Edward Volmer and Herlig Laurentine Kloster Petersen. He died Jan. 2, 2016 and is buried in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
Capt. Petersen served with the U.S. Navy in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
