Irwin Harold Penning was born Nov. 2, 1916 to Mino and Inga Marie Hauan Penning. He died Dec. 15, 1944 and is buried in Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
Sgt. Penning served in World War II with the U.S. Army 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division. He was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
