Jean Blankenship, Ervin Pedersen Wed at Lake Parsonage
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Blankenship of Swaledale announce the marriage of their daughter, Jean, to Pvt. Ervin Pedersen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Art Pedersen of Swaledale, which took place at the Zion Lutheran parsonage in Clear Lake, Sept. 28, 1944, with the Rev. Reuben Mostrom officiating.
The couple was attended by Miss Erma Blankenship, Swaledale, sister of the bride, and Richard Bodde of Hampton.
The bride wore a royal blue chiffon velvet street length dress with as corsage of red roses and white mums. The bridesmaid was attired in a soldier blue street length dress with a corsage of pink carnations and white mums.
The bride is a graduate of Swaledale high school and attended Hamilton School of Commerce for a year.
The bridegroom entered the Army in May, 1944, taking his training at Camp Roberts, Cal. After a 14-day furlough, he reported to a camp in Maryland.

MISSING IN ACTION --Mr. and Mrs. Arthur M. Pedersen, who live on a farm near Clear Lake, received word Friday that their son, Pvt. Ervin Pedersen, is missing in action in Germany since March 27. Pvt. Pedersen entered the service in May, 1944 and has been overseas since last November. He served with the infantry.

Ervin Donald Pedersen was born Aug. 6, 1921 to Arthur M. and Mary E. Johansen Pedersen. He died Mar. 20, 2003, and is buried in Rockwell Cemetery, Cerro Gordo County, IA.
Pvt. Pedersen served with the U.S. Army infantry in World War II and was MIA in Germany.
