Lt. Warren Pease

 

IOWA HONOR ROLL

These Iowans, like those pictured in this section in previous weeks, have given their lives for their country. All have been killed in combat or have died in prison camps. The fourth line under each name shows where the man last served.

Warren J. Pease was born Mar. 12, 1922 to Seth J. and Ella Viola Honeyman Pease. He died Feb. 21, 1944 and is buried in Farragut Cemetery, Farragut, IA.

Lt. Pease served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 549th Bomber Squadron, 385th Bomber Group and was KIA as the pilot of a B-17 bomber when he apparently lost control in the clouds and collided with another aircraft in the formation. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. Before his death he had completed 11 missions over Germany.
