Richard L. Patterson was born May 30, 1922 to Creed Lester and Carrie Emma Becker Patterson. He died June 19, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
Sgt. Patterson served with the U.S. Army’s 300th Engineers Combat Battalion in World War II. He was MIA/KIA in the English Channel and was awarded the Purple Heart.
