Corporal Norris W. Olson, son of Mrs. D.N. Olson, 2401 Jones Street, departed Tuesday, following a furlough spent with his mother, for Fort Benning, Georgia, where he will enter the officers’ training school. Corporal Olson was inducted March 1.

Norris Walter Olson was born Mar. 27, 1912 to David Nathaniel and Gunhild Isadore Erickson Olson. He died July 20, 1944 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
Sgt. Olson served in World War II with the U.S. Army 35th Infantry Division and was KIA in France.
