Howard Milton Oden was born May 18, 1922 to Preston Harlan and Minnie Olive Cain Oden. He died Dec. 8, 1943 and is buried in Zachary Taylor National Cemetery, Louisville, KY.
Lt. Oden served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was killed along with 10 other airmen when their plane exploded during a training flight in Algeria, North Africa. They are buried in a common grave at the National Cemetery in Louisville.
