William H. Nowels was born July 22, 1918 to Perry J. and Minnie Mae Marsh Nowels. He died Dec. 20, 1943 and is buried in Carlisle Cemetery, Carlisle, IA.
Sgt. Nowels served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 95th Bomb Group and was MIA/KIA over Germany as a tail gunner on a Flying Fortress.
