Carl A. Nord was born Nov. 30, 1920 to Oscar F. and Lola M. John Nord. He died June 6, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Brittany America Cemetery, Saint James, France and has a cenotaph in Atlantic Cemetery, Atlantic, IA.
Lt. Nord served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 863rd Bomber Squadron, 493rd Bomber Group, Heavy and was MIA/KIA/FOD and awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
