YANK ENGINEER DIES OF WOUNDS
Lt. Nemmers, Hampton, Loses Life in France
Hampton -- Mrs. Leroy Nemmers receive word that her husband, Lt. Leroy Nemmers, had died of wounds received last month while serving with the army engineers, in France. Word of his serious injury was received just 3 weeks ago.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L.G. Nemmers, Hampton, and before entering service he was graduated from Hampton high school and attended Iowa State college. He was sent overseas last fall.
His survived by his wife, the former Miss Helene Hansen, Hampton, his parents, a sister, Miss Patricia Nemmers and a brother Robert.

Leroy George Nemmers, Jr. was born Sept. 22, 1922 to Leroy and Blanche Fernelle Agard Nemmers. He died Feb. 4, 1945 and is buried in Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, IA.
2nd Lt. Nemmers served in World War II with the U.S. Army and died in France while in the service of his country.
