Daniel W. Morris was born May 23, 1913 to John H. and Alpha Omega Phelps Morris. He died Aug. 10, 1944 and is buried in Springfield Cemetery, Delta, IA. He is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing at Brittany American Cemetery, Saint James, France.
Sgt. Morris served with the U.S. Army 34th Tank Battalion, 5th Armored Division in World War II and was KIA in France while in the service of his country and was awarded the Purple Heart.
