William Ridgeway Miles was born June 17, 1920 to Reed M. and Myrtle J. Ridgeway Miles. He died Mar. 6. 1990 and is buried in Saratoga Township Cemetery, Saratoga, IA.
Petty Officer Miles served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Houston (CA-30) and became a Japanese POW.
