On Pacific Cruiser—Shown at the left is Carl Edward Meliand, coxswain, 3202 Westcott Street, Sioux City, who is helping a shipmate sew a canvas cover around the life cable aboard a cruiser in the Pacific. The other sailor is Jerome Moakowitz of Fall River, Mass. Both are veterans of the Iwo Jima campaign.
