Newton Bruce Muller was born Oct. 21, 1917 to Ellis and Esther Ida Schuler Muller. He died Apr. 7, 1943 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines. He has a cenotaph in Saint Johns UCC Cemetery, Lyman, IA.
Petty Officer Muller served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was MIA/KIA aboard the USS Kanawha (AO-1) which sank as the result of enemy bombing while refueling ships in Tulagi Harbor.
