MISSING GUNNER SAFE -- Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mulford of Iowa Falls received an official message from the navy department Sept. 21 that their son, Karl A. Mulford, petty officer 2/c, was missing in action. Last Saturday Mrs. Irvin Bruce of Iowa Falls received a letter from her son Arthur stating that Karl had been forced down in the Pacific where Arthur is stationed and at Earl's request he was writing to his mother asking her to take the news to his family. The letter stated Karl is safe and well and will be home soon.

Erle AKA Earl Adelbert Mulford was born Feb. 27, 1923 to Arthur Richard and Esther Conrad Mulford. He died July 27, 2009 and is buried in Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls, IA.
