Victor A. Mueller was born Feb. 9, 1920 to Albert J. and Emma W. Trupke Mueller. He died Dec. 15, 1944 and is buried in the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manila, Philippines. He has a cenotaph at Carroll City Cemetery, Carroll, IA.
Lt. Mueller served with the U.S. Army artillery. He was a survivor of the infamous Bataan Death March and the atrocious Japanese POW camps. He was placed on a cargo vessel the Japanese used to take American POWs to the mainland and died in the sinking of that ship.
