Iowa Honor Roll
These Iowans, like those pictured here on previous Sundays, have given their lives for their country. They were fatally wounded in combat or died in prison camps. The fourth line under each name designates the war area in which the man last served.

Paul Forrest Miller was born Nov. 6, 1916 to Raymond Roy and Mamie Olive Stonehocker Miller. He died Aug. 24, 1942, was buried at sea, and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Petty Officer Miller served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Enterprise (CV-6) “The Most Decorated Ship of the Second World War”. He died as the result of enemy action when that vessel was hit with three direct bomb hits and 74 were killed and 95 were wounded with serious damage inflicted on the carrier. He was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
