John Sidney Meiers was born Nov. 25, 1919 to John Conrad and Caroline “Carrie” Knabel Meiers. He died Aug. 2, 1944 and is buried in the Masonic Cemetery, Tipton, IA.
Pvt. Meiers served in World War II with the U.S. Army Co. E, 33rd Armored Regiment and was KIA in France.
