Cecil John McNeer was born July 11, 1921 to John Everett and Edna Katherine Mills McNeer. He died May 19, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, England and in Farrar Cemetery, Farrar, IA.
Sgt. McNeer served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was MIA/FOD/KIA as a crew member when his plane crashed in the Baltic Sea, near Nakskov, Denmark. He was awarded the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
