Henry William McKnight was born Feb. 3, 1917 to Thomas and Effie McCartney McKnight. He died Jan. 9, 1946 and is buried in Lorraine American Cemetery, St. Avold, France.
Pvt. McKnight served in World War II with the 614th Ordnance Maintenance Battalion and died while in the service of his country in Nancy, France as a result of drowning when the jeep in which he was a passenger was driven into the Canal La Marne Au Rhine.
