Army Husband, Navy Wife Are Reunited
Tech. Sgt. Lyle McGee and his wife, Gladys McGee, specialist trainer second class of the WAVES, were separated when called to duty five days after thier marriage are together again.
Sgt. McGee was a 21-day furlough, after having been in Trinidad in the supply department for the medical corps since September, 1942. Sgt. McGee arrived home first and upon receiving word that his wife was receiving a 14-day leave, left for Kansas City, Mo., to meet her.
Sgt. McGee entered the army April 28, 1942 and received his training at Camp Barkley, Tex., and was then assigned to overseas duty. Upon completion of his furlough, he will report to North Carolina for further orders.
Mrs. McGee.entered the WAVES Sept 9, 1943 and reported to Hunter college, N.Y. She took link trainer training in Atlanta, Ga., and is now stationed at Corpus Christi, where she is a link trainer instructor.
Both Sgt McGee and his wife were employed at the Rock Island arsenal before entering the service.
Mrs. McGee's parents are Mr. and Mrs. J.J. McNamara of 26 Oak Lane and Sgt. McGee's parents are Mr. and Mrs. T.L. McGee of 1504 Pershing avenue.
