Arnt Marcus died Sunday
JEWELL - Arnt Marcus, 70, longtime Ellsworth resident, died Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the Veterans’ hospital in Des Moines where he had been a patient for 16 days.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 o’clock at the Becker Funeral home with the Rev. C. A. Gisselquist of Immanuel Lutheran church at Story City. Burial will be in the Mamrelund cemetery near Randall.
Mr. Marcus was born March 28, 1899, son of Mr. and Mrs. John and Anna Knutson Marcus. He was a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the American Legion Post 191 at Webster City.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and had resided for the past 11 years at the Soldiers’ Home in Marshalltown.
Surviving are three children; Mrs. Don Tysdahl, Alden, Mrs. Wilburn Smith, Alden, and Carroll Marcus of Iowa Falls; one sister, Mrs. Stanley Olson, Story City; one brother, Clayton Marcus of Ellsworth; and several nieces and nephews.
