Sunday night all the children and grandchildren of this vicinity gathered at the parental K Louwerse home in honor of Abe Louwerse, who is spending a 15-day furlough here. During the course of the evening a phone call came from California from Mrs. Herman Klein Jr. (the former Johanna Louwerse) who talked to her brother, Abe. He plans to leave on Friday for Sheboygan, Wis. where he will visit with relatives before returning to his post at Keesler Field, Mississippi.

Abe Louwerse on Furlough
Private Abe Louwerse, son of Mr. and Mrs. K. Louwerse of Sioux Center is enjoying a 15 day furlough with relatives. He plans to leave on Friday for Wisconsin to continue his visit before going back to camp. Abe is stationed at Keesler Field, Miss., has been in the army four months and this is his first furlough. Abe says that he works 16 hours a day in the army.

Corp. Abe Louwerse Enjoying Furlough
Corporal Abe Louwerse came home last Thursday morning for a 15-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. Louwerse, other relatives and friends in this vicinity. He was recently promoted to the rank of Corporal and left on Monday for Sheboygan, Wisconsin to visit with relatives and friends.
