Lieut. Herbert E. Longren, son of Arvid Longren, 3210 13th street, spent a few days visiting father and friends here before being transferred to Fort Meade, Md. He was formerly stationed at Camp Livingston, La. His wife accompanied him here.

Herbert Edwin Longren was born Oct. 3, 1918 to Carl Arvid and Amanda L. Pearson Longren. He died July 14, 1944 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
2nd Lt. Longren served in World War II with the U.S. Army 358th Infantry, 90th Infantry Division and was KIA in Normandy, France.
