Fritz Lindquist, 83, of Webster City, died Sunday, December 12, 2004 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, with graveside military rites conducted by American Legion Post #191. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Foster Funeral & Cremation Center and prior to services Tuesday at the church.
Floyd Fredrick Lindquist, son of Gustaf and Zora Riley Lindquist was born on May 27, 1921 at Stanhope, Iowa. He received his education at the Stanhope School. In 1942, Fritz entered the United States Navy. Following his discharge, he farmed southeast of Webster City. In 1975, he retired from farming and later moved to Webster City. On December 10, 1998, he married Mary K. Ambrose at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
Fritz is survived by his wife, Mary, stepsons, Greg Ambrose of Stratford, George and Wife, Kathy Ambrose of Waukee, Marion and wife, Cardinal Ambrose of Madison, TN., Ken and Wife, Tami Ambrose of Webster City, Ben E. Ambrose also of Webster City; step daughters, Marcia and husband, Bud Logan of Goodlettsville, TN., Laura and husband, Pete Greene of Hendersonville, TN; 17 step=grandchildren, 11 step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Merlin, Clifford, and Ernest Lindquist and one sister, Margrette Nelson.
Fritz was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post #191. He was very active in both the Church and the American Legion, where he held several offices.
