John H. Lefers was born Sept. 19, 1897 to Harm and Frances Alberdina Brinks Lefers. He died Aug. 2, 1944 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Pella, IA.
Sgt. Lefers served in World War II with the U.S. Army Signal Corps and died of tuberculosis while in the service of his country.
