Webster Lavender was born Dec. 20, 1910 to Ira L. and Eva Smith Lavender. He died Jan. 18, 1987.
Sgt. Lavender served with the U.S. Army in World War II. He was stationed in the Hawaiian sector of the Pacific war theater.

Webster Lavender, 76, of Webster City died Sunday, Jan. 18, at his home following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20 at the Foster Funeral Home with Merlyn Silverthorn officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Foster Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today.
Webster Lavender, son of Ira and Eva Smith Lavender, was born Dec. 30, 1910 at Webster City where he received his education.
He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a mechanic from January 1942-Oct. 1945. He saw action in the Pacific theater.
On March 27, 1948, he married Eva Smith at Rockford, Ill. The couple resided in Rockford and moved to Webster City in 1950. He was emloyed by J and N International Sales until 1961 when he began operation of the Lavender Tractor Service. He retired in 1982.
Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Jo Parrish and Jan (Mrs. Richard) Andrew, both of Webster City; two grandchildren, Matthew and Julie Parrish, one niece and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
