Reunited After 2 Years Separation
Those broad smiles of Francis A. Kueny, third class petty officer (right) and his brother, Wayne Joseph Kueny, seaman second class, are due their reunion in the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Kueny, 3229 Linn Street, after a separation of two years. Francis served 23 months in the Pacific, nine months of which were aboard a supply ship and the remainder on Marshall Island, the Gilberts, Tarawa, Carolines and Philippines. He wears three battle stars the Philippine ribbon and the Asiatic- Pacific and American theater ribbon. On October 17, he will report to Des Moines where he expects to be discharged. Wayne has been on leave after completing “boot” training at Great Lakes, Illinois. Another brother, Lester Vincent Kueny, first class boatswain, is stationed in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
