Robert Koster

 

MISSING - Robert Koster, a gun pointer in the navy, has been missing in action since Sept. 16, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Koster of St. Ansgar. The young man attended St. Ansgar high school for 3 years and enlisted in the navy on his 17th birthday. He has been in service 4 years and 2 months and has seen action in both the Pacific and Atlantic areas.

SON LISTED MISSING WRITES LETTER HOME

St. Ansgar—Mr. and Mrs. George Koster, Sr., received a letter from their son, Robert, 21, petty officer 1/c, who had been reported missing in action since Sept. 16.  The letter was dated Oct. 4, contained little writing only to let the parents know he was safe.

Robert Allen Koster was born June 11, 1922 to George and Ruth Jane Poer Koster. He died June 10, 1979 and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Nashua, IA.

Robert served in World War II with the U.S. Navy.
