Chester Wilfred Knoll was born Sept. 23, 1919 to Fred C. and Lila Knoll. He died May 13, 1979 and is buried in the Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL.
Major Knoll served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

Funeral services for Chester W. Knoll, 59, were held Thursday, May 17, at a Shalimar Funeral home in Shalimar, Fla., with burial in the military cemetery at Pensacola, Fla.
Mr. Knoll died Sunday, May 13, at the Keesler Air Force base hospital, Biloxi, Miss. following a lengthy illness.
A former resident of Webster City, he was united in marriage on Oct. 20, 1942 to Melvarose Alexander of Webster City.
He entered the Air Force during World War II and served for more than 25 years in the Air Force. For the past 12 years, he had been teaching school in the sixth grade at Shalimar.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Rich in the Air Force, stationed at Offutt Air Base, Omaha, and Pytr, who is engaged in the real estate business in Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Patti Anne, at home; five grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Lila Knoll of Sioux Falls; three brothers, Clifford of Sioux Falls; Melvin of Denver, and Glenn of Baltimore, Md.
He was a member of the Niceville Christian church, Fla.
