To Be Admitted To West Point
Clarence Kingsbury, 17, Passes Physical and Mental Exams
Clarence Wade Kingsbury, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Kingsbury, 3122 Pierce Street, has received notification from the war department hat he has passed physical and mental tests and will be admitted to the United States Military academy as a cadet on July 1.
Clarence, who now is employed as a Rodman for the Iowa state highway commission, formerly attended North Junior School here and was an eagle scout. He was graduated last June from Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, California, where he won a rating as cadet first Lieutenant in the R.O.C. Later he attended Iowa State College at Ames, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.
Appointed to the military academy comes on recommendation of Harry Narey, who served the recent short time as congressional representative of the old Ninth Iowa district.
