Orville William King was born Aug. 30. 1915 to William Alfred and Dorothy L. Withall King. He died Oct. 24, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery Taguig City, Philippines.
Petty Officer King served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and became a POW of the Japanese and died while a POW in the sinking of the Arisan Maru. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
