Frank Sherman King was born Feb. 17, 1919 to Raymond and Stella Ida King. He died Nov. 30, 1942. He was buried in the U.S. Naval Cemetery at Aiea, Territory of Hawaii along with other shipmates who perished with him. He is memorialized at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, IA.
Petty Officer King was MIA/KIA in the South Pacific near the Soloman Islands while serving with the U.S. Navy in World War II. He served aboard the USS Minneapolis.
