Gene Burdette Kimball was born Jan. 18, 1926 to and Glenn L. and Esther B. Kimball. He died Feb. 19, 1945 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, IA.
Pvt. Kimball served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II. He was KIA Feb. 19, 1945 in the landing on Green Beach Iwo Jima D-Day. He was initially buried in the 5th Marine Division Cemetery, Iwo Jima and returned to the U.S. for permanent burial in 1948.
