Marvin George Kersten was born Jan. 8, 1918 to John and Lenna Kersten. He died Jan. 29, 1945 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Pvt. Kersten served in World War II with the U.S. Army 160th Infantry Regiment, 40th Infantry Division and was KIA on Luzon. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and Purple Heart.
