Leo Melvin Kelly was born Jan. 23, 1907 to Henry Clinton and Margaret Ellen Townsend Kelly. He died Apr. 1, 1945 and is buried in Afton Cemetery, Cherokee, IA.
Sgt. Kelly served in World War II with the U.S. Army Battery C, 11th Battalion, 4th Field Artillery Training Regiment. He died of meningitis at the regional hospital, Ft. Bragg, NC.
