Wilbur Karney Dies in Germany
Cpl. Wilbur Karney, 37, died Mar. 31, in a hospital in Germany, the War Department has informed his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Karney, 323 Third st., West Des Moines.
Corporal Karney was employed by Lakeshore Tire and Rubber Co. here before entering the Army two and a half years ago. He served in Europe with a tank battalion the last year.
Surviving, besides his parents, is a sister, Mrs. Mildred Kokish, Cedar Rapids, Ia.
