The immediate re-classification into a class available for service of those registrants who since December 12, 1944, have voluntarily left the employment for which they were DEFERRED, without first having obtained the required determination from the local board, has been ordered by State Selective Service. In other words, those men who since December 12 have left their jobs and farms for which they were DEFERRED are subject to 1-A classification.

Mrs. Alfred Beukelman and Mrs. Arthur Kamerman plan to leave for Chicago on Friday evening to visit with their husbands who are receiving their boot training for the navy at the Great Lakes station. The girls plan to look for work there and will remain there until their husbands have completed their training.

Mrs. Arthur Kamerman arrived home from Chicago, Ill. on Tuesday evening where she had been working several weeks while her husband was stationed at the Great Lakes naval training station, and after spending a few days at the parental Teunis Jansen home, she left for Shoemaker, Calif. on Thursday evening where she will be with her husband who had been moved there for advanced training with the navy.

Arthur Kamerman S.F. 1/c, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kamerman, has been in the Navy for almost a year, and is stationed at San Francisco, Calif. He is married to the former Ann Jansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Teunis Jansen, and he called her by telephone on Thursday as that was their first anniversary.

DISCHARGED
Alfred Beukelman arrived here last Tuesday evening and has been discharged after a year of service in the navy. He spent the last few months on sea duty. Arthur Kamerman arrived home that same evening and has also been discharged after a year of service in the navy. The boys left the same time and also arrived home again together.

Arthur William Kamerman was born July 12, 1922, at Orange City, Iowa, and was living at Sioux Center, Iowa prior to entering the Navy on April 9, 1945, at Great Lakes, Ill. He served on the USS Gemini AP 75, left for overseas duty on July 3, 1945, returned on April 15, 1946, and was honorably discharged on April 23, 1946. His application for bonus pay was filed on May 20, 1949, for which he received $152.50.
